Survival 2010

The survival crew of 2010!

Our Survival was blessed with perfect weather conditions! We were able to explore all around Killarney and find some great cliffs to jump off. Special shout-out goes to Sammy Levy who definitely had the most creative jump of the trip! An old alumni staff Dave Levin joined the group and treated everyone to some top of the line kosher steaks! Luckily for Jay, there were no injuries on the trip and he could put his medical kit to rest. Sophie, the strongest canoer on trip seemed to have some sort of magic seat as every canoe she joined seemed to buzz through the water. Musical prodigy Justin Binder led the late night sing-alongs with his travel guitar and created a one-hit wonder turning into the the trip theme song, "I wouldn't rather be here with anyone else but you.."
Survival 2010 will be a trip none of us will ever forget!

Threshold 2010

The Threshold team of 2010!

This year's threshold trip was quite exhilarating! The first day we had ideal weather conditions and found a beautiful site to camp out on. We made a delicious hot dog stir-fry and everyone contributed with their diverse cooking skills. Jon Gottesman learned how to build his first fire courtesy of Solelim's very own shaliach, Yonaton Haver. Day 2 of the trip was a challenge. The wind no longer was at our backs and we had to paddle twice as hard. Never giving up, after a long days paddle we finally hit our site. With everyone exhausted and the rain beginning to commence, we found some motivation and compiled one of the largest piles of wood in order to cook a well-deserved dinner. Potpourri artist, Rachel Rosenbluth, led an insightful chat around the bonfire and we all enjoyed our marshmallows and hot chocolate.
Threshold 2010 can be very proud of all their hard work!

Medium Canoe 2010

Medium Canoers 2010!

Medium trip this year was composed of only rookies and was quite the trek! With a beautiful morning sunshine,we began the trip stress-free getting our tan on. As the day progressed, the sun disappeared and rain clouds appeared all over which later transpired into roaring rainfall. Fighting for the last site, we managed to capture it, and in unison we all began collecting wood and preparing for a well-deserved dinner. The next day was nothing but sun rays, and we had a nice challenging paddle to a camp site nice and close to the access point. Munching on hot chocolate and marshmallows by the fire, we had the luxury of listening to Ron Glazer sing us some fun Israeli songs. This was a great trip and everyone should be proud of the hard work they put in each day, not even the rain could stop us!

Easy Canoe 2010

Easy Canoe 2010!

This year's easy canoe trip was a fun and relaxing vacation! With 9 post girls and 5 rookie boys, the trip had a very fun dynamic. The trip was a great bonding experience with a very special coffee house run by Marielle Gordon and Kelly Simpson. Chad Podolsky stole the show with his Celine Dion solo, but Sam Zevy was a close 2nd with her Johnny Cash mash up. We had great bonfires courtesy of Jesse Rotenberg's fire building skills and had some intense scary story telling.
Easy Canoe was a fun time for all and a great way to see the beautiful outdoors of Killarney National Park!
